The timer stopped or went silent when I locked my phone.

The clock itself keeps exact time while locked: it is driven by real timestamps, so when you come back it is in the interval you should be in. If the cues went silent, check that the ring switch on iPhone is not blocking them in Settings → Sound, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing the app. Cues are designed to play with the ring switch on silent.

My music stopped when a cue played.

Cues are meant to lower your music briefly rather than stop it. In the app, open Settings → Sound and check "Lower music for cues". If it is off, cues mix in at full volume without touching your music at all.

How do I get my workouts onto a new phone?

Settings → Your data → Export a backup, on the old phone. Send the file to yourself. On the new phone, Settings → Your data → Restore from a backup, and pick the file. Everything comes across: workouts, favourites, history, settings and reminders.

I subscribed but the app says I am on the free plan.

Settings → Restore purchases, signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with. A subscription is tied to that store account, not to the phone.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by us. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments and subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Does it write calories to Apple Health?

No, on purpose. The app has no heart rate or motion data, so a calorie figure would be a guess presented as a measurement. It writes the workout type, start time and duration only, and reads nothing. Apple Watch and the phone’s own sensors already measure energy for the same period.

Reminders are not arriving.

Check that notifications are allowed for Boxing Timer in your phone’s Settings. Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself and need no connection, but they do need permission. In the app, Settings → Notifications → Workout reminders shows whether each one is active.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Your data → Delete all data. It asks twice, because it is permanent. Deleting the app also removes everything, since nothing is stored anywhere else.

I want a workout removed from my history.

Open the session from the History tab and choose Remove from history. Statistics and streaks update immediately.

What the app does not do

So nobody is surprised:

  • no Apple Watch app yet
  • no home-screen widget
  • no exercise videos
  • no heart rate
  • no calorie tracking
  • no account
  • no cloud sync

Your data lives on your phone, and the backup file is how it moves.

Safety

Boxing Timer is a timer. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting or changing how you train, and stop if something hurts.
